ABOUT OUR TEACHING ARTISTS

Erik Escobar
Performance Instructor

Erik Escobar is a writer, performer, and educator born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to being a proud member of the CFAER Summer Arts Camp team, he also currently teaches improv, writing, and performance workshops at various probation camps and detention halls for incarcerated youth with the Unusual Suspects Theatre Company and coaches improv teams throughout California and Oregon. He is currently working towards a MFA in Comedy Studies at Goddard College and performs all throughout the US at clubs, colleges, and festivals. Credits include NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central, and Vh1.

 

Frankie Fleming
Pioneering Instructor

Frankie Fleming is an artist and educator born and raised in Los Angeles. Her multi-disciplinary work uses video, photography, sewing, sculpture, and writing to consider representation, obsession and utility. She studied at Bard College in the Film and Electronic Arts Department with a focus on experimental documentary and installation. After completing her undergraduate degree, she moved to Oakland where she was involved with Canyon Cinema Foundation, Southern Exposure, and the Ohlone Profiles Project. Most recently, Frankie worked with high school students in Southern Exposure’s Mission Voices Summer program. She is excited to be back in Los Angeles and join the Imagine Studio team.

 

Luke Davis

Visual Arts Instructor

Luke Davis has been an Assistant Teaching Artist and Teaching Artist Instructor for over 5 years in local K-12 classrooms and community programs throughout Pasadena and Los Angeles. An Art Center College of Design graduate, with a Studio Arts degree from UCI, he has a versatile background in Fine Art and Graphics. Luke is an artist working in mixed media, combining new and obsolete technologies, often moving across one media to another during the creation process. As our Visual Arts Instructor, he combines art history and contemporary art styles for a fun and creative learning environment.
