We are pleased to present the juried exhibition World on Fire opening April 2, 2021 and running through Earth Month with art & environmental science panels, seed bomb making, and printmaking with natural materials workshops, with the generous support of Pasadena Art Alliance. The exhibition will feature original works from members of the Los Angeles Printmaking and special guests. The show will be an exploration of the extremes of a world on fire, with inquiries into climate change, extreme fire, and its larger effects on animals, habitat, and communities.

From global wildfires to the COVID-19 pandemic to the ongoing resistance against systemic racial injustices, traditional views of the world around us have been challenged, giving way to a heightened awareness of our impact on the earth and each-other. With “the world on fire” on many fronts, the exhibition and related activities will present an intersectional view of issues pertaining to climate change that include environmental justice, the conservation of wildlife, biodiversity, fire safety, and issues of racial justice, food justice, and the growing land back movement.
