Art Camps

Center for the Arts Eagle Rock welcomes artists ages 6-12 to explore and create in our exciting week-long programs. Our art camps run for several weeks over Summer break, and one week during Winter break. Each week, campers explore visual art, performance, sculpture, architecture, textiles, writing, and more.

Our teachers are local, contemporary artists that combine art history, play-based learning, and their own studio practices to create curriculum that gives campers the opportunity to explore artistic expression and establish community. Each week culminates in an art exhibition and performance created by the students and facilitated by the teachers. We have up to 40 campers each week, and classes are led by 3 teachers and 3 teaching assistants.

Summer Arts Camp is designed for campers aged 6-12, and is a day camp running Monday through Friday from 9a.m. - 3p.m. Each week has a different theme!

Campers rotate through 3 arts classes each day of camp: Visual Arts, Exploration, and Performance.

In Visual Arts, campers will craft, draw, create textiles, sculpt, collage, and more while learning about foundational visual arts techniques, artists, and art movements to discover their own unique styles.

In Expression, campers will use art to deepen their connection to the natural world, the planet, the oceans, flora, fauna and and other cultures while learning about their emotions and self-expression through art-making.

Their original artworks from Visual Arts and Exploration will be featured in an end-of-week gallery show on Fridays.

In Performance, campers will learn movement, stretching, dance, vocals, music, set and costume design, storytelling, and acting to create an original collaborative performance that caps off the camp week alongside the art show. This culminating Friday performance comes entirely from the imaginations of the campers, facilitated by the teaching artists. Friends and family are invited to attend to celebrate the creativity of the campers.

Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We are limiting the number of youth each week to 36, split into 3 groups of 12 each according to age/grade.
