I love to draw portraits and wanted to learn new techniques. Jolene taught me about gestures, contour, chiaroscuro, and making faces in 3D. I also learned how to make faces with different materials. All of the media was very different and fun to use to make faces and very unique in its own way. This class has taught me to trust the process of making faces and keep trying. It’s also taught me that I really enjoy working with all the different types of media like oil pastel, clay, and charcoal. This has taught me that it’s okay to get your hands messy sometimes and that you can create something amazing if you put your mind to it. I hope I continue to make faces, trying out different media and techniques, to make amazing faces with more classes to help me grow.
