Winter Arts Camp
Center for the Arts Eagle Rock offers two engaging youth arts camps a year: Summer Arts Camp and Winter Arts Camp.
Winter Arts Camp is a special, one-week arts camp during LAUSD’s Winter Break. This is an opportunity for campers to spend a part of their break time creating, learning, interacting with peers and artist mentors, and staying active! Want to minimize screen time during school holidays? Enroll in our arts camps! At the end of the week of camp, campers showcase their artworks. There is a performance featuring short plays entirely written, directed, and acted out by the campers. Each day consists of 3 different art activities that each camper gets a chance to experience: Exploration, Visual Art, and Performance.
Exploration teaches campers how to use art to express themselves and explore the world around them, even incorporating other cultures and elements of science into art projects.
Visual Arts is a foundational and technical art skills class, focusing on building young artists’ art knowledge by incorporating art history and basic art techniques into each project.
Performance teaches storytelling through stage techniques, from beginning stages of writing a story, to character development and movement, to how that story can then be adapted to the stage in front of an audience. For stage-shy campers, we also include costume and set design opportunities.
